Veridian Credit Union ranked No. 1 in the U.S. for member value
The quarterly index measures value for savers, borrowers and service usage, and Veridian is the only Iowa, Nebraska or Minnesota-based credit union to reach No. 1 in five years.
- Veridian Credit Union ranked No. 1 among all credit unions in the Callahan & Associates Member Index for the second quarter of 2026, a national measurement evaluating how effectively financial cooperatives deliver value to their members.
- Founded in 1934, Veridian provides personal and business financial services to members across Iowa, Nebraska, and the Twin Cities through 32 branches, aiming to help people build confidence and achieve their goals.
- The Member Index tracks performance using regulatory call report data across three key areas: value for savers, value for borrowers, and member service usage. This methodology allows easy comparison among credit unions.
- Consistently ranking in the top 1% of credit unions, Veridian has appeared in the top 10 since the fourth quarter of 2022. "As a member-owned cooperative, these efforts are core to our mission," said Veridian President and CEO Renee Christoffer.
- According to historical data, the credit union previously held the top spot for seven consecutive quarters ending in 2019. Veridian remains the only institution based in Iowa, Nebraska, or Minnesota to reach the top ranking in the last five years.
