While the state oil company had already given administrative control over oil production to Chevron and other companies since 2022, the new regulations extend the scope for manoeuvre in other areas such as refining.
The president promulgated the regulation of the Orgnica Hydrocarbon Law, which represents the biggest change in Venezuelan oil policy in more than two days each.
