In a last-ditch effort to persuade Slovakia to agree to the eighteenth sanctions package against Russia, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has sent a letter to Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. If Slovakia agrees to the sanctions package, Malta will also comply. This is what outgoing Minister Caspar Veldkamp (Foreign Affairs) expects, he said after a meeting with EU foreign ministers.
