Vancouver police assist federal investigation into Sea-Doo’s collision with whale
The rider was taken to hospital in serious condition as officials said the whale appeared to be feeding normally the next day.

- The Fisheries Department reported the whale appeared in "good condition" Tuesday, observing it feeding and "moving normally" before it swam out of English Bay, "making deeper dives along the way."
- Authorities reminded vessel operators to maintain at least 100 metres distance from all whale species following the collision, which drew crowds of onlookers to Vancouver waters.
- The collision, captured on video, remains under federal investigation, with Royal Canadian Marine Search officials noting the animal's fate remained unclear shortly after the high-speed impact.
