Valley Medical Cancer Center begins new construction phase
Phase 1B unites five specialty clinics in one connected space as Valley Medical prepares to expand care for patients with new diagnoses.
- On Thursday, August 20, Valley Medical Center held an official ribbon cutting for Phase 1B of its Cancer Center in Renton, with patient care beginning August 31.
- Construction began in 2018, though the campaign paused in 2020 due to COVID-19; after a three-year delay, Valley Medical relaunched fundraising and restarted construction in December 2023 at 4009 Talbot Rd.
- Valley Girls & Guys founder Tina McDonough contributed a $1.8 million donation, supporting Phase 1B's consolidation of the Oncology & Hematology Clinic, Multidisciplinary Clinic, Acute Symptom Management Clinic, High Risk Screening & Genetics Clinic and Supportive & Palliative Care Clinic.
- Providers can now collaborate steps apart instead of across buildings, expanding on the February 2025 opening of the Infusion Center and the Trapper and Samantha Wellbeing Resource Center.
- Valley Medical is now fundraising for the Cancer Center's final phase, Phase 2, which will bring Radiation Oncology services to the 1st Floor to complete the facility.
