Less than 20 people still live in the village of Valea Arsului in Crișcior commune (Hunedoara county), a picturesque settlement known for its valuable resources of gold, copper and andesite. Two large copper and andesite quarries, as well as the ruins of former gold mines, remind us of its past wealth.
