Director Who Worked With Val Kilmer Brands Actor The 'Worst' Person He's 'Ever Known'
Adam Marcus called the late actor the worst human being he knew and said Kilmer would have been canceled for similar behavior today.
On Sunday, director Adam Marcus criticized late actor Val Kilmer in a now-deleted Threads post, calling the Conspiracy star the "worst human being I've ever known."
The director, who worked with Kilmer on the 2008 thriller Conspiracy, claimed if Kilmer "did one-tenth of what he did on my set today, he would have been cancelled in a blink."
Batman Forever director Joel Schumacher called Kilmer "childish and impossible" in 1996, while The Island of Dr. Moreau director John Frankenheimer said he would never work with him again.
In his 2021 documentary Val, Kilmer admitted, "I have behaved poorly. I have behaved bizarrely to some," while maintaining he had "no regrets" for discovering new parts of himself.
Kilmer, who died on April 1, 2025, at age 65, remains a complex figure in Hollywood, as collaborators continue raising concerns about his on-set behavior decades after the criticisms began.
