Update (March 29, 6:10 pm) – According to an alert, crews contained a 450-acre wildfire Sunday at Land Between the Lakes. Investigators believe the fire is human-caused. Crews say fire may continue in the interior of the containment and smoke may be visible. North/South Trail will remain closed but FS Road 337 should reopen by morning, according to the alert. Fire crews from the US Forest Service are battling two wildfires in Land Between The Lakes. Forest Service officials say the Cassidy fire has grown to 150 acres and was 20 percent contained as of midday. Forest Service crews are also battling a second 30-acre wildfire along road 337 in the area or road 141 in Kentucky. The second wildfire is impacing the North/South Trail.
