In USD 482, on Monday, December 15, the National Labour and Wage Council set the new Unified Basic Wage (SBU) for 2026, that is, an increase of USD 12 over the current one (USD 470). The announcement follows an agreement reached between employers’ and workers’ representatives.
The announcement was made on the morning of Monday, 15 December, by the Ministry of Labour, following a process of technical dialogue at the National Labour and Wages Council, a tripartite body in which economic, sectoral and labour indicators were analyzed.
