The governor of Texas, Republican Greg Abbott, on Tuesday ordered all state agencies and universities to suspend the processing of new H-1B visa applications and initiate a review of the current use of this program for highly qualified foreign workers.

According to SB 8, signed by Greg Abbott, various Texas counties are now obliged to collaborate with the Immigration and Customs Control Service (ICE) through Agreement 287 (g) and in the event that they do not, they will be able to receive severe sanctions. This alerts the thousands of immigrants in that part of the United States.
