- Pinder served as "dean of pledges" for Kappa Alpha Psi at the University of Miami, where reports allege victims were beaten for failing to "correctly answer questions about the fraternity" during initiation.
- The Secret Service placed Pinder on administrative leave, stating the agency is "fully cooperating with the investigation," while all three suspects remained in custody on Monday facing multiple felony charges.
- State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle stated hazing is "abuse and it is a crime," emphasizing the case provides "clear-cut examples of hazing's danger" as victims continue suffering from their injuries.
