- Bonnie Glaser, managing director of the Indo-Pacific program of the German Marshall Fund, said Xi views arms sales as destabilizing. "Xi Jinping would say that arms sales to Taiwan would undermine that understanding," Glaser said.
- Both sides will address trade, with up to US$30 billion in non-sensitive goods facing potential tariff reductions, alongside artificial intelligence discussions. The two nations agreed to establish an AI dialogue during their May meeting.
- Future summits including APEC in Shenzhen and G20 in Miami could enable additional bilateral meetings between the leaders. Glaser said it would be "unprecedented" for U.S. and Chinese leaders to make two reciprocal visits in a single year.
