u.s. Military Parachute Training to Be Held at Kadena in February; Iejima to Remain an "Exception"; Okinawa Prefecture Strongly Protests, Calling It a "Disregard for Saco" Objectives

It has been learned that the U.S. military is planning to conduct parachute training at Kadena Air Base from 12:00 to 4:00 PM on February 3rd. This was published in the Federal Aviation Administration's NOTAM. Operations at Iejima Auxiliary Airfield, where the parachute training takes place, only resumed in December of last year, so if the training were to be conducted at Kadena, it would inevitably provoke a backlash from the local community.
