US, Iran claim control of Strait of Hormuz after weekend strikes
Iran and the United States each claimed the waterway as attacks on commercial shipping and regional targets disrupted global oil flows, officials said.

- Declaring the interim war deal effectively "over," President Donald Trump acknowledged that negotiations continue, while mediators from Pakistan, Qatar, and Egypt attempt to shore up the ceasefire after Iran condemned recent attacks.
- The International Energy Agency warned that a prolonged confrontation could delay the rebuilding of global oil inventories expected later this year, as shipping transits remain significantly below usual levels through the vital waterway.
