US military conducts strikes against Iran for seventh consecutive day

Iran says 38 people have been killed and more than 400 wounded as the United States and Tehran trade drone and missile strikes.

  • United States forces struck Iran for a seventh consecutive night on Saturday, hitting Hormozgan province near the Strait of Hormuz, where Iranian state media reported at least three people killed and eight wounded.
  • Since the conflict began on February 28, 2026, with US-Israeli strikes on Iran, the health ministry reported at least 38 dead and more than 400 wounded as hostilities expanded beyond the Strait of Hormuz.
  • Iranian Revolutionary Guards reported two oil tankers exploded after hitting mines in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, and claimed retaliatory strikes against United States military targets in Kuwait and Jordan.
  • Major-General Mohsen Rezaei, an adviser to Iran's supreme leader, warned that Tehran will resume "full-scale offensive operations" if United States strikes continue for another two or three days.
  • Middle East specialist David Khalfa noted a "widening range of strategic infrastructure" is being drawn into the conflict, telling AFP that both sides perceive compromise as "a form of capitulation.
