US heating-oil bills expected to rise 21% this winter, EIA says
Heating bills for US households that rely on oil are expected to rise 21% this winter from a year ago, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), as higher heating oil and diesel prices push up costs. The EIA expects heating oil prices to rise 30% and Brent crude to average $105 a barrel in the fourth quarter, while Middle East oil production and exports are expected to gradually recover.
Brent oil holds above $100 a barrel; the U.S. Energy Information Administration has raised its oil price forecast. The agency expects the price of Brent oil to average $105 a barrel in the last quarter of 2026. If this forecast is realized, the expectations of discounts in fuel prices may weaken as well. On the European side of Istanbul, a liter of gasoline is sold from 84.75 TL and a liter of diesel from 90.19 TL.
