The US Embassy in Moscow urged U.S. citizens in Russia to leave the country immediately, as a result of information on a possible case of lung plague. Diplomats pointed out that they were following the situation in the Irkutsk region, where approximately 200 people were hospitalized and several quarantined hospitals were closed after the death of Daria Epilova, a 27-year-old employee of the pest control institute.
