The US House of Representatives cleared a key procedural hurdle on Tuesday evening to advance a bipartisan sanctions bill that would empower President Donald Trump to impose tariffs of up to 100 per cent on nations purchasing Russian crude oil and natural gas, including India and China. US Democrats list India for potential 100% duties over Russian oil
One amendment, sponsored by Rep. Steny Hoyer, would name India, China, Trkiye, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Slovakia, the UAE, Singapore, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as the initial countries eligible for duties of up to 100% under the legislation.
The US House of Representatives is set to vote on a bill imposing sanctions on Russia, including tariffs of up to 100 percent on countries that buy Russian oil, including India.
