US Contractor Who Worked for Gaza Humanitarian Foundation Saw Colleagues Fire on Hungry Palestinians - News From Antiwar.com
GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE, JUL 6 – Over 700 Palestinians have died and 4,000 wounded at Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid sites due to live fire by Israeli forces and U.S. contractors, reports confirm.
- An American contractor reported that colleagues working for the U.S.-Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation fired live ammunition and used stun grenades and pepper spray on unarmed, starving Palestinians at Gaza aid sites in May 2025.
- This followed Israel’s total blockade of Gaza in March 2025, which triggered severe hunger for two million people, while Israeli officers allegedly ordered troops to shoot Palestinians attempting to reach four militarized GHF distribution sites replacing former NGO-run centers.
- Videos released by Associated Press and UG Solutions showed armed mercenaries firing warning shots and live rounds toward non-threatening crowds, with reports of casualties including a woman struck by shrapnel and a guard firing from a watchtower at slow-moving women, children, and elderly.
- A soldier reported that daily fatalities near GHF sites ranged from one to five individuals, while Doctors Without Borders described the GHF as a "slaughter disguised as humanitarian aid." As of July 3, more than 600 Palestinians had been killed and over 4,000 wounded at these locations.
- On July 1, a coalition of prominent NGOs issued a joint statement in Geneva demanding the prompt cessation of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation , which receives support from the U.S. and Israel, and called for the reinstatement of aid efforts led by the United Nations, highlighting serious concerns about military actions, humanitarian shortcomings, and disputed U.S. funding linked to the controversial organization.
