A federal appeals court in the United States has banned the IRS from sharing taxpayer records in bulk with immigration authorities, limiting the ability to use the data for mass deportation operations. The ruling upholds a previous block on ICE's request for records of 1.28 million people, saying the IRS ignored a legal obligation to be directly and personally involved in the investigation.
