"Urukunu Giant Garbage Butterfly" Unveiled at Starbucks in Manko Park, Naha; a Plastic Waste Sculpture

On the 30th, which is designated as "Zero Waste Day" (a play on words), an art installation made from plastic waste collected from beaches and wetlands in Okinawa Prefecture was unveiled at the Starbucks Coffee Naha Kagamihara store in Kagamihara-cho, Naha City. The motifs for the installation were the black-faced spoonbill and the great white butterfly. Local residents gathered to celebrate its completion.
