URI, DEM team up to revitalize shuttered Alton Jones campus

WEST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) — The University of Rhode Island (URI) plans to open its W. Alton Jones Campus in West Greenwich back up to the public. This comes five years after URI, which has owned the campus since 1964, decided to close the Whispering Pines Conference Center and Environmental Education Center at Alton Jones due to ongoing financial struggles exacerbated by the pandemic.
