'Urgent action' needed to help thousands of patients waiting for organ transplants, Health leaders say
NHSBT said 700 potential donations did not proceed and family consent fell to 57%, prompting an urgent appeal for people to register their wishes.
- NHS Blood and Transplant launched an urgent campaign during Organ Donation Week yesterday, calling on 1 million people to register on the NHS Organ Donor Register following a 9% decline in deceased donor rates.
