In view of the current heat wave, the NABU stresses the urgent need to preserve the city's green instead of further fuelling the sealing and thus the heat in the city. "The green in the city is not forfeitable, but essential for our health, because natural green areas are the best way to counteract the heat in the city," explains Stefan Petzold, NABU expert for settlement development. The importance is also underlined by the EU Renaturation Act.
