The University of Puerto Rico (UPR) reiterated its willingness to continue dialogue with the University of Puerto Rico Workers Union (STUPR) on Thursday, after its members ratified a strike vote amid controversy over employee health coverage.
Hundreds of members of the Union of Workers of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) today ratified a strike vote to be implemented on Tuesday, September 1, to not reach an agreement with the university administration on the medical plan selected by the union. The ratification took place in the context of an Extraordinary Assembly held today in the Botanical Garden where the facilities of the Central Administration of the University are located.
