High wind, sand wreak havoc in Panhandle, South Plains
Last Friday’s strong winds and dust storm pounded the Texas Panhandle with electrical and internet outages, property damage, road closures and 42 vehicle crashes, three which were fatal. The National Weather Service reported that Dimmitt had gusts up to 84 mph.
