RADAR CHECK: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are mainly over the eastern half of Alabama this afternoon. They are moving southward, and heavier storms are producing strong wind gusts and lots of lightning. Temperatures are mostly in the 80s over the eastern counties, with 90s over west Alabama. Update: Weather alert issued for strong thunderstorms in South Alabama Tuesday evening – wind gusts up to 40 mph
An updated weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 6:48 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 8 p.m. for Wilcox, Monroe, Conecuh, Butler, Crenshaw and Covington counties.Residents may experience wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
