NY weather update: The current severe thunderstorm warning will be expiring at 6 p.m.
The warning was in place for Clinton and Franklin counties."The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, severe thunderstorms continue in portions of Clinton County," according to the National Weather Service.

Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, lightning is still ongoing with this thunderstorm," states the National Weather Service.
Update: The current severe thunderstorm warning for Middlesex County will expire at 6:30 p.m.
The warning had been issued for Middlesex County."The storm which prompted the warning continues to move out of the area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. for northern New Jersey," says the National Weather Service.
