The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is pushing forward with the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail project, modifying the Ayutthaya station design to avoid the World Heritage site. Bidding is scheduled to open between July and November 2026. The SRT has also set a deadline to reclaim contract 4-1 (Don Mueang section) for its own use if the private sector delays.
