UP school principal, wife hacked to death at home in Sultanpur: Police

Police said the couple were attacked with an axe, spade and knife, and investigators are questioning people as the motive remains unclear.

  • On Tuesday, a government school headmaster, Mukesh Singh , and his wife, principal Vinita , were found hacked to death at their private school premises in Kumbhi Dadiya village, Sultanpur district.
  • Mukesh established the private school in 2002, and the couple resided on the campus where employees discovered their bodies Tuesday morning.
  • According to preliminary investigations, Vinita was attacked with an axe and spade inside a room, while Mukesh's body was found around 150 metres away.
  • Police recovered an axe, spade, and knife from the scene, and Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal confirmed the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations as the investigation continues.
  • The couple is survived by their 20-year-old son, Abhyuday, who is studying at a university in Delhi.
