Univity funds VLEO 5G demonstrators with $32 million Series A
French startup Univity has raised around $32 million to deploy a pair of 5G demonstrators into very low Earth orbit next year, ahead of plans for at least 1,600 VLEO satellites to help telecom operators extend 5G coverage from space. The French space start-up has completed an A-series fundraiser of 27 million euros. It is positioned on the very low ground orbit segment, making its satellites operate at 375 km. It has signed 16 preliminary agreements with operators, including Orange.
Challenger by Starlink and Amazon Leo, the French start-up is closing a fundraiser to complete its tests in space. Always with the aim of having deployed its constellation in very low orbit by 2031.
