The four Typhoon currently operating on the islands will be replaced by more modern aircraft by the end of 2027. The decision was confirmed by the British government in the midst of a new diplomatic escalation with Argentina.

Faced with the resurgence of the crossing with Argentina for sovereignty, four first generation Typhoon fighters that London maintains in the archipelago will leave their place to units with radar and more sophisticated weaponry.

London will replace four Typhoon aircraft with units with more advanced technology. The renovation will take place between November and December 2027, while Donald Trump again warned of the consequences of a possible conflict over the sovereignty of the archipelago.
