- The plan details two parallel tunnels that carry road and rail traffic, link NH‑15 and NH‑715 with Rangia‑Mukongselek Railway Section and Furkating‑Mariani loop, and generate around 80 lakh person‑days of employment.
- The project will provide significant benefits to Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and other Northeast states, serving as a strategic lifeline for trade, tourism and industrial growth and adding Assam's fourth rail line crossing the Brahmaputra.
- Following cabinet approval, construction is slated to finish in five years and integrate with 11 Economic Nodes, 03 Social Nodes, 02 Tourist nodes, 08 Logistic Nodes, 04 major railway stations, 02 airports, and 2 inland waterways.
