The Union Cabinet on 26 November has approved the expansion of the Pune Metro rail network at ₹9,858 crore, adding Line 4 and Line 4A, totaling 31.636 km. Completion of the project is expected in five years.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced the expansion of Pune's metro network. He stated that Pune is continuously making decisions to expand its metro network. In addition to the existing metro lines, which cover the North-South and East-West directions, two new lines have now been approved for construction.
