The black-red coalition will obviously not continue the idea of citizens' councils accompanying parliamentary work in the Bundestag.
More direct participation is an opportunity to strengthen democracy. However, the Civic Council, in which 160 people have so far drawn up recommendations for the Federal Government, is facing an end – although the coalition agreement promised a continuation.
