UNFI DRIVERS IN TEXAS JOIN TEAMSTERS
- On May 15, 2025, 93 workers at UNFI in Lancaster, Texas, voted to join the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 745.
- These workers organized with the Teamsters to improve wages, benefits, and working conditions following recent union victories at UNFI nationwide.
- Since 2022, more than 3,000 employees at United Natural Foods Inc. , the primary distributor for Whole Foods, have joined the Teamsters, with earlier contract agreements providing $8 hourly wage increases and pension benefits.
- Charles Evans, a new member of Local 745 and driver for UNFI, expressed that becoming part of the Teamsters is essential to obtaining fair wages, benefits, and the respect that workers are entitled to.
- The Teamsters will assist these workers in negotiating a first contract and aim to extend strong protections to every UNFI employee nationwide.
