CNBC reported on September 19 that a defense-tech arms race is escalating on the seabed, where over 1.3 million kilometers of undersea cables carry 98% of the world's international data. Germany's Euroatlas has already signed over 100 million euros in contracts for its Greyshark patrol drone, while France's Thales and NATO's Baltic and Arctic Sentry programs race to cover a network officials admit they can't fully protect.
