UN ups number of staff detained by Yemen’s Houthis to 19
The detentions follow raids after an Israeli airstrike killed the Houthi Prime Minister; 18 Yemeni staffers and one international employee are held, the U.N. said.

- U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric stated that 18 detainees are Yemeni staffers and one is an international employee.
- Dujarric condemned the detentions and noted that the Houthis previously detained 23 U.N. employees, some since 2021.
- He warned that the Houthi actions seriously endanger the U.N.'s ability to deliver aid to the people of Yemen, the Arab world's poorest country.
