The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, confirmed this Tuesday that the office he heads “does not have any kind of staff inside Venezuela.” The official, who was declared persona non grata by the Venezuelan Parliament last July, said that “all possible efforts have been made” to continue operating in the country, “requesting visas and dialogue with the authorities, but without success.”
