Ukraine Strikes Russian Petrochemical Plant More than 2,000 Kilometers From Border, General Staff Says
Ukraine’s military said the strike damaged Tobolskneftekhim’s central gas-fractionation unit, while officials reported no deaths or injuries.
On Monday, several Ukrainian drones struck a petrochemical plant in Russia's Tyumen region, confirmed Governor Alexander Moor, though he did not specify which facility was targeted.
The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces confirmed the strike damaged a gas-fractionation unit at Sibur Tobolsk, a ZapSibNeftekhim subsidiary located more than 2,200 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
Earlier that same day, Ukrainian drones struck Nizhnekamsk, killing 13 people, while reports also emerged of a fire at the Nizhnekamskneftekhim plant.
No deaths or injuries were reported at the Tobolsk site, though The Ukrainian Telegram channels Supernova and Exilenova claimed the attack targeted the ZapSibNeftekhim complex.
Situated more than 2,200 kilometers from the border, the strike in Tobolsk demonstrates the expanded operational range of Ukrainian drone operations targeting critical energy infrastructure deep within Russian territory.
