UK travel company suspends all services as holidaymakers warned 'do not travel'
ABTOT told eligible UK customers to seek refunds as Wayfairer Travel said it cannot continue trading and is moving to appoint an administrator.
After more than 14 years in business, Wayfairer Travel Limited has suspended all services and is taking steps to appoint an administrator. The company said it is currently unable to provide further information pending accounting and legal advice.
The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust was notified that Wayfairer is "unable to continue trading and is taking steps to appoint an administrator." The organization advised travelers with bookings on or before September 30, 2026, to "do not travel."
Those holding an ATOL Certificate should contact ABTOT directly on 020 7065 5311 or claims@abtot.com. UK residents without an ATOL Certificate should first approach their debit or credit card issuer for a refund.
ABTOT protection arranged for affected customers does not cover bookings made by non-residents, who should contact their card issuer, travel insurer, or agent instead. For departures after September 30, 2026, travelers should await further information unless contacted directly.
The suspension follows several other travel companies that have ceased trading or entered administration in 2026, including Ascend Airways, EcoJet Airlines, and Zenith Aviation Limited. The travel sector faces ongoing volatility as multiple firms struggle to maintain operations.
