UK Travel Company Collapses Into Liquidation After 22 Years
The company had arranged Hajj, Umrah and Ziyarat trips for thousands of customers, and its website now shows a 404 error.
Ilford-Based Yourtravelshop has entered voluntary liquidation, with Donald Harper and Andrew Maak of The Insolvency Practice Limited appointed as joint liquidators on July 21. The faith-based travel firm specialized in pilgrimages for over two decades.
Originally founded in 1995, the company incorporated as Yourtravelshop.com Ltd in 2004, organizing Hajj, Umrah, and Ziyarat trips. It marketed itself as providing "journeys of faith, planned with clarity, carried with care."
Religious pilgrimages were previously priced between £1,200 and £1,875. Visitors to Yourtravelshop's website now encounter a "404 Not Found" error when attempting to access information about available packages.
A notice in the Gazette on July 26 confirmed the liquidation. While the website displays no available trips, it remains unclear whether previously scheduled departures have been affected by the closure.
This closure follows a series of similar collapses in the UK travel industry this year, including recent liquidations and administrations involving Ascend Airways, EcoJet Airlines, and Zenith Aviation Limited.
