‘The devil is not going to win,’ train attacker told passengers

Anthony Williams faces charges after stabbing 11 people on an LNER train; eight victims remain hospitalized, including one in critical condition, British Transport Police said.

  • Dayna Arnold, 48, and her partner Andy Gray, 37, were on a London-bound LNER train when a knifeman launched an eight-minute rampage, leaving two people battling for their lives.
  • Arnold said she fell down as the knifeman ran after her, pleading 'Please don't kill me', but he continued, saying 'The devil is not going to win.'
  • Gray witnessed the violent attack shortly after departing Peterborough station, seeing a knife 'plunging' and a young man around 19 or 20 with gashes and a 'severe puncture' under his arm.
