UK Pensioner, Student Arrested for Backing Palestine Action
LONDON, AUG 7 – The charges follow protests supporting Palestine Action, with over 220 arrests nationwide since the group was banned for attacks on military property, officials stated.
- On July 5, 2025, Jeremy Shippam, 71, of West Sussex; Judit Murray, 71, of Surrey; and Fiona Maclean, 53, of Hackney, were charged in Westminster for supporting Palestine Action under section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
- Following the move to proscribe Palestine Action in June after supporters allegedly damaged two Voyager aircraft at RAF Brize Norton, three individuals were charged under the Terrorism Act.
- Authorities report over 220 arrests across the UK since last month, as Defend Our Juries expects more than 500 people at Saturday's protest in Parliament Square.
- They are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 16 September, and face up to 14 years in prison if convicted.
- Against this backdrop, protests continue nationwide as a High Court hearing looms in November, with Defend Our Juries planning a legal challenge to Palestine Action’s proscription.
