UK film production company used in Barbie enters administration after 15 years
Administrators said the London-based film services company carried net liabilities of nearly £396,000 after 15 years in business.
London-Based film services provider Mission Digital Ltd fell into administration on June 29 after 15 years in business, with joint administrators Jeffrey Mark Brenner and James Stares from Antony Batty & Company Ltd appointed to manage the process.
Accounts for the year to June 30, 2025, showed fixed assets of £1.1 million and current assets of around £144,000, yet the firm faced severe financial strain with net liabilities close to £396,000.
Mission Digital Ltd provided digital imaging technology and dailies services for major films including Project Hail Mary, Barbie, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, supporting leading cinematographers over more than a decade.
Administrators have taken daily operational control and implemented a statutory moratorium, providing the company "breathing space" to formulate financial restructuring plans free from creditor enforcement actions.
Under the Insolvency Act 1986, administrators must formulate proposals within 8 weeks to determine whether the firm will be rescued, enter liquidation, or be dissolved.
