UK blocks entry for Finnish MEP Sebastian Tynkkynen
British authorities have refused entry to Finnish MEP Sebastian Tynkkynen after he disclosed criminal convictions in his travel authorisation application. Finnish MP Päivi Räsänen says a separate refusal now threatens a planned visit to Northern Ireland.
Both politicians have been convicted of incitement against a group of people. MP Oras Tynkkynen (Greens) considers the travel bans disproportionate.
According to the MEP, the notice stated that his presence in Britain was not in the public interest.
