UFC ending pay-per-view model in Canada with Paramount Plus streaming deal
The six-year deal replaces $69.99 pay-per-view buys with Paramount+ access starting at $7.99, the UFC said.
- On Thursday, the UFC announced an expansion of its partnership with Paramount Plus to Canada, moving 13 annual numbered events to the streaming service starting in January 2027.
- Under a six-year deal, numbered events will be available to all Paramount Plus subscribers in Canada at no extra cost, building on the $7.7 billion partnership established in 2025.
- Viewership on the Paramount Plus setup has been more than 15 times the average for pay-per-views, prompting UFC CEO Dana White to say, "I love Canada and I'm very excited for the fans."
- Sportsnet and TVA in Quebec will retain domestic broadcast rights for preliminary bouts and the 30 annual UFC Fight Night cards, with specific event details announced later this year.
- UFC executive David Shaw called the move a "fan-friendly opportunity" as the David Ellison-led Paramount pursues aggressive streaming expansion to compete with Netflix and Disney Plus.
