Mumbai: Former Mayor Vishakha Raut Disqualified As BMC Corporator Over OBC Certificate Cancellation

Former Mumbai Mayor and Shiv Sena (UBT) corporator Vishakha Raut has been formally disqualified from the BMC after the Palghar Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committee cancelled her OBC certificate. The UDD issued the disqualification order on September 1, which was announced at Monday’s BMC General Body meeting. Her exit reduces Shiv Sena (UBT)’s BMC strength from 65 to 63.
