Typhoon Dolphin Rapidly Intensifying, No Direct Threat to Marianas Expected

The Joint Typhoon Warning Center says Dolphin could reach 175-mph sustained winds and remain over open water into next week.

Rapidly forming Typhoon Dolphin could turn into a super typhoon by the time it passes way north of the Mariana Islands later this week, but it is not expected to impact the Marianas directly, according to forecasts.
