In recent years, artificial intelligence has learned to converse impressively. It can write articles, program, translate or hold long debates. But that's where the problem may lie, according to one of the former OpenAI researchers. Diogo Almeida is now coming up with a model called Jev that doesn't want to be a chatbot. Instead of long answers, it should make quick and well-defined decisions that the computer can use immediately.

Diogo Almeida, a researcher from OpenAI, launches an AI model that refuses to generate text. In a few hours, the announcement has aroused an exceptional craze, here's why. AI company TypeSafe AI announced "System One Models," an AI that solves tasks using an approach different from large-scale language models (LLMs), and its first model, "Jev," on September 15, 2026 (local time).
